Behind the scenes

Maybe because I'm such a slow worker I occasionally feel hesitant to show too much of a work in progress, like I don't want to reveal it until it's done!  But I thought I should give a little peak of some of the stuff that's going on behind the scenes.  Do you ever sometimes think that the back of your piecing is strangely beautiful, however roughly finished?

The finished quilt will be made almost entirely of half-inch squares; four thousand, six hundred and eight of them to be precise.   I'm getting there.

  5. Wow, it's no wonder work on that is somewhat slow! It's beautiful already (front and back) and will be amazing when it's done. I'm mostly in awe of how much ironing of seams you'll have to do - that would be what would dive me potty. Are you planning on sticking to this colour scheme throughout or will it vary?

  8. Sometimes things reach a point where you think 'that's just crazy', but, if you keep on going, those same things reach a point where you think 'now that's super crazy..... AWESOME!'. Go for it, Catherine, reach that crazy goal! It's looking amazing already.

  13. This is amazing, Catherine. Yes yes yes on all your questions, but now I have one for you: how do you keep the tiny squares from getting distorted? That's often the trouble I have with wee pieces, and wondered if you had any tricks to share.
