Imperfect but finished. Everything is a learning experience, and I'm happy!  Not much time to be making anything else at the moment apart from a seriously bricklike Christmas cake.

  2. This is very beautiful. My parents have just had their Golden Anniversary. I had trouble finding a card I liked. If only I'd seen yours earlier!

  4. Looks great Catherine, brandy is the answer to your bricklike Christmas cake, enough of it in the cake and no-one will notice (or care!) :)

  6. beautiful, and good luck with the cake. Last year my cake was rotten but we manfully ate half of it. I realised when making this years I put it in at 240 instead of 140! Roast cake instead of baked cake.

  8. I don't think it's imperfect at all, your stitching has character and charm. Yum yum to Christmas cake x

  9. I love it, so cute and obviously made with love! Brandy is definitely the answer for Christmas cake... I soak the fruit for a few days first (I have a suspicion that I undercooked it a bit, oh well, as I'm the only one who eats it, I don't think that will be a problem).

  10. You say imperfect, I say unique. What a beautiful piece of work that I'm sure gave as much joy in the making as it will in the receiving. Good luck with the cake :)
