Grumpy

It is the onset of winter and I don't like grey days.
Whatever I am doing, there is always something else that I ought to be doing.
I want to own lots of nice fabric and threads because I want to make stuff out of it - if I had the time anyway.
And I would like to go to White Stuff and buy almost their entire shop so that I look like a yummy mummy instead of being permanently dressed in jeans and mud.  (Yes, that is shallow:-)

Probably that sounds like everyone else's life too, except for White Stuff and the mud, so I will stop whingeing, grow up, get a grip and count the many ways in which I am lucky - like receiving this card from Geraldine as part of the Very Berry Handmade ATC swap:

It's just brilliant!

Feeling better now.  Have a great weekend!

  2. Oh how I sympathize - hang on in there. My youngest has just returned from a school trip to Paris - she bought her sister earrings, me a scarf and her father a Grumpy (as in the seven Dwarves) mug - tells you everything.

  3. I can tell you the code to get 15% off at White Stuff.... Or you could make loads of music bags to sell and then buy up the whole shop ;-) Absolutely pouring here, to the extent of instant flooding, school firework night too!

  4. I am so with you... I would love to go shopping right now, for lovely clothes. Instead I have bought slippers for all my menfolk to stop the puppy from making holes in their socks (and toes!).

  7. I gave up trying to be a yummy mummy years ago. I started as a gummy mummy, moved on to frumpy mummy and have now progressed to ho-hum mum. When they leave home I'm sure I'll get back to being me :-)
Stick with it. Like winter this too shall pass.

  10. I've just found your blog and love it, especially your slow blogger manifesto which struck a chord. I look forward to reading some more of your older posts and seeing the lovely things you've made.

  12. I know exactly how you feel Catherine. It's been raining here all day long and it made me feel a bit sad and gloomy too. But this little card is so sweet and full of happiness... you are lucky to get it. I am still waiting for mine.

  13. Lovely ATC!. Yes I too freak sometimes when I think of my non yummy mummy wardrobe (more of my OMG i have turned into a large middle aged lady -when did THAT happen?! though). The upside of grey days is cosy fires and crisp bright clear frosty days too. Honest!
