Another applique music bag.
The birdies in this one got fancier tails, red and pink...
and blue-green variegated Guttermann Sulky.
This bag also features mice with bead eyes. Birds or mice might have been enough from a compositional point of view but sometimes you just have to go for it!
I've been wondering whether anyone would buy a bag like this (we can all dream).
This one was made as a gift. One of the reasons I blog is to make contact with people who also like making things and I am really grateful for the support of other bloggers, so once in a while it's nice to be able to show my appreciation. Miss Patchy Rose this bag is for you - I hope you like it!
Finished just in time to link up with Finish it Up Friday at Crazy Mom Quilts.
This is really sweet - I am sure she will love it!
ReplyDeleteCatherine, how sweet! Put my cat, Josephine hanging off the staff under the birds, and you would have what is a daily experience here. They flock above her and yell nasty things. I stand next to her so I guess I have become an object of their distain, too. The mice just run and hide. Oh well...
ReplyDeletethis is gorgeous - I am sure people would buy bags like these - perfect for any music student :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely - am sure she will love it.

Lovely bag Catherine, I am sure it would sell. Is there a local craft fair that you could try out to test the water as it were?
ReplyDeleteabsolutely gorgeous bag. A lovely gift and I too am sure it would sell.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they would sell well on Etsy, especially if were themed (how about a 'Three blind mice' bag, with the mice, and their tales in place of the notes?). I love the peacock too–the colours you've chosen are just perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh you must sell these - and this was my comment before you even posed the question!
ReplyDeleteAnother "oh so sweet" music bag!! Love the stitching!! I would buy this 'pretty' in an instant!!
ReplyDeleteLucky Miss Patchy Rose. This is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis bag is so cute and fun!! So sweet birds and so fun to have mice as well! I think bags like this would sell in a flash!
ReplyDeleteThis bag is absolutely adorable! Little mice are my weakness. I love them! And I'm so tickled by your slow blog movement that I'll have to join. My finishes are so few and far between I'm almost embarrassed to have a blog. But I love it for keeping track of my finishes and having a record of the quilts I give away. It's also gotten me some great friends and I love peeking into their worlds.
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice bag. Really like the treble clef embroidery and the tiny mice. The fabrics on mice and pink bird are lovely. You should try selling the bags on Etsy. I am sure people would buy them.
ReplyDeleteThe birds are so lovely :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful bag. I love the birds they are colorful and the embroidery so neat. Well done. I think more than one person will be interested in buying a pretty bag like yours. I agree with Larisa, you should try Etsy.
ReplyDeleteThis certainly is the most wonderful tote I can think of and I saw that Miss Rose Patch was very pleased and happy with it. The birds are gorgeous and very inventive. I love them. and the mice too. I think you are really talented in sewing and you could easily sell those totes.
