Afternoon of fail

Sometimes the ideas in your head don't quite make it out.

This was intended for the Textile ATC swap at Very Berry Handmade but not only has it turned out too big, but youngest sprog thought it was an apple, and the husband thought it was a pumpkin.  It's obviously chestnut good enough (boom tish).

  6. Hello Catherine. It looks like a chestnut to me too! Only discovered your blog recently and I love the idea of Slow Blogging as I am a big advocate of slow stitching. You may have come across the idea of slow cloth but if not, take a look at the Slow Cloth manifesto at http://handeyemagazine.com/content/slow-cloth. I love the idea of blogging but the notion of conforming to certain 'rules and standards' and the obsession with building a readership or having to read loads of others to 'keep up' can make it seem a bit overwhelming. Interestingly there appears to be a bit of a backlash against this which the idea of Slow Blogging fits perfectly, and is very liberating - interesting post and debate at

  7. Now that I know it's a chestnut I can see that it's a chestnut. But if I didn't know, I'm not sure I'd know :-) Nevertheless, cool idea and very neat stitching!

  8. The chestnut looks perfectly fine to me ... though maybe without the stem it would be even easier to recognize ..
