How very lucky to come back from your holidays and receive these:
Two colour charts - for Aurifil cotton, and Aurifil Lana (wool blend)....
...which are a thing of beauty and will be going on the wall for reference, and as works of art.
Not only that, but threads in different weights!
Ooh, lovely thread.
As you can see all the threads come in a huge variety of lovely colours. I sometimes think that human beings are a bit like bower birds and these fire off all my acquisitive neurons (though I already have a mate, and it is possible that a wonderful thread collection wouldn't have done it for him). I'm particularly taken with the beautiful wools, which open up all kinds of creative possibilities I hadn't thought of.
I would like to thank Alex Veronelli of Aurifil, who quite unexpectedly responded to this post in such a generous way. I can't wait to use these, and will let you know how I get on.
Lucky you! I am like a kid in a sweetie shop when confronted with anything like this and I want it ALL!
ReplyDeleteWow Catherine, what a fantastic gesture from Aurifil! Returning from holidays can always seem a bit of a downer, but not when you can home home to something as lovely as that! Enjoy creating! Natalie x
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! How marvellous of Aurifil! You're going to love this thread and I know you're going to have lots of fun with it!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Any sign of a BERNINA appearing over the horizon?!
How lovely! Such a happy story :-) Any news on sewing machines?
ReplyDeleteThese look wonderful. I'm looking forward to hearing what you sew with them - especially the wool blends :)
ReplyDeleteWow, did you really get ten spools? and colour charts?.......mmm wander how long I have to wait before I can try this and it not look like I'm copying her.....
ReplyDeleteHonestly though lucky you. One day I will get around to ordering some Aurifil. Somehow I can resist it on line, now if I saw it in a shop, that would be a different matter :o)
Oh wow how fantastic, the colour charts themselves are gorgeous and all those threads to play with too, a lovely parcel to come home to.
ReplyDeleteYAY!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great package to return to! Great PR for Aurifill too, winners all round :)
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing what you do with all this gorgeousness.
Brilliant! Lucky you! I felt the same way when I got my Kona Solids Chart - it's so pretty! Lol! Just keep on with the BERNINA mentions, you never know... :-)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! And methinks they'll have themselves a nice new advertiser too! Can't wait to see what you use them for! Absolutely valid as art too!
ReplyDeleteooooooooh!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYep I agree they look amazing, definitely art. No sign of the Bernina then.... Hope you had a great time up north!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky duck! That half the fun of making things... perusing the colors and options and touching the beautiful fibers. Fun thing to put up on the wall too!
